Perinatal & Reproductive Mental Health

If you are trying to conceive, have had a recent loss, or you are a new or expectant parent experiencing fear, rage, sadness, panic, worry, or disconnection, I can help you reduce your distress and feel less overwhelmed. We will work together to help you feel better and increase your confidence in your ability to cope effectively.

 

I work with adults struggling with:

  • Anxiety and/or depression in pregnancy

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Postpartum depression and/or anxiety

  • Postpartum mood swings 

  • Feeling overwhelmed

  • Grief and loss related to miscarriage

  • Infertility 

  • Postpartum isolation and lack of support

  • Maternal adjustment issues

  • Conflict with partners 

  • Sleep issues

  • Scary thoughts related to your baby

Individual Psychotherapy

Is life getting you down? Overwhelmed or feel like you are in a rut? Do you struggle to find balance? Have you developed strategies to help you cope with stress or anxiety that just aren't working for you anymore? Do you feel like you are in survival mode all of the time? Are you experiencing difficulty coping with a life transition or relationship stress? Are you having difficulty healing from past trauma or struggling with body acceptance? We will work together to tackle one stressor at a time and find effective ways to help you feel more grounded and at peace.

Parent Support

Being a parent isn't always a walk in the park. Many days are full of challenges, emotional roller coasters, and loss of patience.  As parents we sometimes need to vent, work through problems, and let go of self-doubt and judgment.  I help parents discover their parenting style and approach, teach effective means of discipline without yelling, break the cycle and heal from their past traumas, let go of shame and guilt, and find their calm even on days it feels chaotic

 

I work with parents to:

  • Let go of the notion of being the "perfect" parent

  • Navigate parenting styles and develop their own

  • Be more present with their children 

  • Increase patience and yell less

  • Find balance with home and work life

  • Process unresolved childhood trauma
    as it relates to their parenting

  • Find time to take care of themselves

Group Psychotherapy

Alone we are strong but together we are unstoppable.  Group psychotherapy provides clients an opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge and support from others struggling with similar issues. Daytime and evening groups available. 

 

I host and facilitate various types of support groups related to:

  • Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS)

  • Parent burn out

  • Intuitive Eating

  • Working moms 

  • Mindful parenting 

  • Body positivity

I am available to facilitate workshops and other public speaking events. We can chat to develop a presentation based on your unique needs.

  • Body positivity and Intuitive Eating

  • PMADs trainings for professionals 

Fees and Insurance

I accept the following insurance plans:

  • Cigna

  • NYSHIP/Empire Plan (as an out of network provider)

My out of network rates are as follows:

  • Individual psychotherapy session (55 minute): $160.00 

  • Couples psychotherapy session  (1 hour): $200.00

  • Family session (1 hour): $200.00

I can provide you with receipts upon request to submit to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement.
